BETWEEN BULK SMS AND RECHARGE CARD PRINTING BUSINESS

CHAPTER 4.

BETWEEN BULK SMS AND RECHARGE CARD PRINTING BUSINESS
The recharge card business is not very popular in Cameroon as compared to Nigeria. It is a business which is related to telecommunication too. This is the reason why I am comparing the two. Since the telecom industry is generating so much money you might be wondering which telecom product is the most lucrative to start, but I just want to briefly compare two of the hottest and most lucrative telecommunications products i.e. Bulk sms and Recharge card
Firstly, you would agree with me that to start a recharge card printing you would need a capital of at least 3 million FCFA if you want to be making good profit, but you don’t need that much to start a bulk sms business.

Secondly, in recharge card printing business there are very few agent who generate the recharge pins directly, the others are resellers who pose as agents, buy from the agents and sell not only to other resellers but to the road side sellers making the process of getting any roadside seller to patronize you a harder task since they will be buying at almost the same rate you bought your own pins, but this rarely happens in bulk sms business, In fact in bulksms it is you the reseller who determines the price to buy and what you want to sell.

Let us do this little calculation with the call box business which I abandoned some years ago.

Let us say you make 1000 FCFA per 10,000 CFA cedit purchased from MTN or Orange.   It means if you invest 500,000 FCFA you will make 50*1000 which gives you 50,000 FCFA profits.
Now if you buy bulk sms at 10 F per sms. Yes 10 FCFA. Don’t worry I will show you how to buy. If you are a good reseller you can even buy for 8 FCFA.
10,000 FCFA gives you about 6000 sms credit (
10f=1sms=6credits) .If you fixed your rate at 15 FCFA pers sms, i.e. You will sell the credits for ( 1sms=6credits=15CFA) you can make it 25 FCFA depending on the situation. But I always advice you to keep it low so as to keep your clients.
Well the sales will end up at 15,000 FCFA.
Quick maths Profit= Selling price –Cost Price=5000 FCFA

This mean we make 5000 FCFA per 10,000 we invest. Investing 500,000 means you will make 50*5000=250,000 FCFA.  I am talking here of 50 percent profits. Is this possible with the call box or recharge card business?

With this type of interest you can be making up to 250,000 FCFA monthly without too much work and capital. Don’t forget you can combine this with other business comfortably and still make huge profit.

Finally, I will want you to choose for yourself which business you will want to start considering its earning potential, and the amount of capital you will need to start with, remember it is not
Good to       end the year with a lean bank account...TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE DECIDE TODAY!!!
